| 21 Monrovia cats still in quarantine Quote:
Twenty-one cats must remain under quarantine in their Monrovia home until mid-November, according to Frederick County Animal Control officials. After that, at least 12 of them must be removed from the home in order to comply with county zoning ordinances.
Earlier this month, animal control officials euthanized one cat who had rabies and was living with the 21 others in a Monrovia woman’s home. County officials will not identify the woman, fearing a backlash against her.
Since then, the county has placed her animals under quarantine in her home, and has been monitoring the health of the cats for any signs of the rabies virus.
Harold Domer, director of the Frederick County Division of Animal Control, said as of this week, there had been no change in the health of the 21 cats......
