Question Doggie treats...how much is too much

Everyone likes to reward their dog, but how much is too much?

What doggie treats should you absolutely avoid and why?

dog treats need to be given as that --treats. less then 5% of your dogs diet should be treats, if you give more then reduce the amount of normal food given. milkbones are quite high in calories. another tip is to take one treat and break it into many pieces instead of giving multiple treats, this way you are gentle on your dogs diet and they think they are getting a lot. now of course if your dog is fairly active and not prone to putting on weight its not as big an issue.

Right now, we just give her a few kernels of her food for a treat

Here is a good about not overdoing treats. I hope it helps you out some.
