strange fishy

Craig bought me a Betta last week and when he brought him home I told him he was ugly,,,, he just didnt look healthy at all and he said he got him for way cheap,,,ANYWAYS

last night when we got home the fish was busy digging a hole in the rocks,,I said hmmm thats kinda weird, maybe hes going to die,,Craig said No hes fine anyways I woke uo this morning and he was still digging away and the hole was quite deap by the this time, I just checked on him and hes now laying in the hole DEAD

I guess he was just digging his own grave,,little did he know hes not staying there but going down the flush,,all that work for nothing

HAHA Sue, I get upset when my fishies die, Craig laughs at me becuase I even cry and make him flush them it is a sad story becuase I knew he was sick when Craig brought him home his fins were really droopy and he had brown bumps all over his head but this mornign I thought maybe he was okay because he was still eating everything I offered but I guess he just wanted a full belly

I have always kept Bettas and i have never seen them dig liek this,,,it was weird, our red devil and oscar dig and rearrange like crazy but never my bettas,,it was just kinda strange

That is really eerie. I don't like when my fish die either. We haven't lost many but it still sucks.

This is sort of offtopic but my Jack Dempsey also rearranges his tank...any idea why they do that?

Big Guy used to push plastic plants around and replant them in the spot he wanted, he also tried to move the big rocks and driftwood. I guess they like to decorate their territory and keep themselves amused

That's so sad about your betta I love bettas, they are wonderful fish!

Okay, now I'm confused. I always thought the same thing...but...I was talking to a breeder and he told me that oscars are not part of the cichlid family directly but they are related.
