He's pretty much the same as before. His tail is fine and healing for about 1-1.5 weeks and then it becomes shredded again. I've pretty much given up on trying to figure out what is going on.

I do, however want to move him to another tank because he's still in the 1 gallon sick-tank. Unfortunately, I have nowhere else to put him. I would like to put him back in the 5 gallon tank (which is now cycled), but the 2 platys are in there and I kind of want to keep the betta by himself (he's quite aggressive - he has even bit my finger while trying to get food). Part of me wants to give the platys back to their owner (they were sort of loaned to me anyway) because I really don't have time to do water changes on two tanks, but I feel so guilty about doing that. So, I don't know...

Oh, and the betta has gone through a number of different names, but none have stuck.

Why don't you call the girl who loaned them to you and say that the betta is too aggressive to live with the other fish? I'm sure she'll understand.
