It could be a great many of plecos, there's alot of them that match this description. Try looking here: http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/numbers/4.php Go through all the L and LDA #'s, that will be all the plecos.

Most common in the stores are usually the peppermint, vampire and snowball (though I do not think yours is the snowball as it has larger dots, and not 'hundreds' as you described)

Well, i took an educated guess based on what I have seen in the pet shops around town. I've only seen the snowball type here in Montreal. i'm going to check my fish atlas for any more possible names.

That's a pretty looking fish! (I know nothing about them so I can't help you in identifying it)

Your best bet is to join here: http://www.plecofanatics.com/forum/index.php?act=idx They can much more quickly help you identify it. I would take just as long as you going through all the pics on planet catfish.
