On Friday, I finally got around to setting up my still unnamed betta (yes, this is the same betta that I got in September) in a new tank. I was really afraid to move him because he is really sensitive to change (remember all of the fin trouble), but the switch seems to have went well - his tail looks pretty much the same (it may be missing a teeny piece) and he has made a giant bubblenest (it is WAY bigger than anything that he has ever built before).
Here are a bunch of pictures of him and the tank (I would suggest doing the slideshow view):

Oh and for anyone interested in an update on the tail issue, he/his tail has been quite good lately. He was going through a period where he would presumably bite his tail and then leave it for a week or two and then bite it again, but this hasn't been happening so much lately. His tail is now mostly its normal size, but the regrowth is very translucent and fragile (it's actually hard to see the end of his tail in a lot of the pictures).
All of the problems aside though, he is an extremely funny fish. He is very social and likes to stare at people and follow fingers (or pens or utensils or anything that you place in front of his tank). He is also very aggressive. He flares up at just about anything - mirrors, people, hamsters, pens, utensils, etc. - and he occasionally "bites" or jumps at my finger when I feed him (mainly if I take too long) or when I take something out of his tank.
