rose breasted grosbeak


has anyone seen one of these kind of birds?? I never seen one till we moved out here about 3 years ago.. and when I seen it I bacame fasinated with it.. it is way cool looking.. so then I got a bird book. and noticed there were so many different kinds of cool birds in our yard.. here is a picture of a grosbeak http://www.mbr-pwrc.usgs.gov/id/framlst/i5950id.html

yesterday I was watching them and it was raining.. they were the only birds out while it was raining.. they seemed to enjoy the rain quite a bit. they would grab a sunflower seed and lean back while they were munching on it to let the rain drip on them.. lol

Yes, we see them in April/May in our yard too! They are very striking. Here are some photos of them in our yard.
