please answer this question...

is it alright to use chlorophyll shavings litter in the tray in my parrots cage??? he is a quacker parrot if that means anything, or a conure. i had some left over from my guinneapig when he died and it has a pic of a macaw on the bag, but i wasnt sure if quackers were allergic or somethin. also i have been placin paper towls in the tray. a teacher at school has a parrakeet and that is what she uses to catch all the lil seeds they drop. my parrot would not be able to reach the shavings cause of the wire bottom too. i think it will be ok to use it but i want to make sure.

i didnt. i found out on a web page that it is dangerous. whew im glad i didnt put it in there. i had actually already put the shavings in the tray when i came down to research it. luckly i hadnt put everything together yet so my bird didnt go in it.

I use shredded paper in the bottom of my bird cage...I have lovebirds...it's great and they love to nest in it at night...just another alternative for you.

Lovebirds are nice but they are totally devoted to each other (unless you get a single bird)...they couldn't care less if I was around or not...they just like me at feeding time! My female is quite aggressive as well...protecting her man I guess! I hear that is normal though... I DO enjoy having them around, they aren't that noisy..a bit in the morning and early evening...the rest of the time they are busy sleeping, eating, grooming each other and doing the nasty!! :P

lol, i just have one bird. my dad would not let me get two cause he said they would not be as friendly, but even if i wanted two there was only one at the store. they said he had been there for a couple months. there was 3 to start out with then george ended up bein the loner. i dont think he would get along well though with other birds lol. he has to be the boss.

They were FREE!!! I work at an animal shelter..when they came in they were about 6 yrs old or so they thought...the previous owner had just passed away and the family didn't want them...I've had them for about 4 years now...
