Any other parrot owners? - Page 2

yes it is Sue,,,,they are very good apartment birds and tlak more than anything, they are the best talkers out of all birds and they have the mentality of a 2-5 yr old, some even older, people say the thing that bugs themmost is they learn and say anything they hear, including, door bells, microwaves, phone ringing, and they do these noises often, and they have the tendancy to screm at people,,,,like they ask for everything you eat,,

one girl I know has one and she said her bird tells the kids to go on time out when they are fighting,,lol

I am planning on getting a bird,,,in the very near future and it was a toss between a cockatiel and a CAG and I chose the cocatiel,,,I dont think I want the commitment with the CAG, they can live up to 70 yrs of age and thats a long time for me

I don't have to tell my kids off, Dude does it for me lol. As soon as they start fighting, Dude steps in and yells, pack it in or get to your room now lol.

I am considering getting a quaker parakeet. They seem like such interesting animals, and I seem to have a thing for intelligent animals.

I live in an apartment though, and I'm not sure if I should get one now and hope my neighbors don't get annoyed if it's loud or if I should wait until I move out into a house. Can quakers be really loud? I've heard varying opinions.
