For you horsey people

Since I was introducing pets I thought I would introduce 'my' horse. This is my friend Darla's 6 year old Paint Gelding Red. I am so in love with this boy!! She bought him at an auction 4 years ago as a stud and had him gelded 2 years ago. He is a perfect gentleman and a sweetheart. He was even a doll before he was gelded. But with all mares it was the safest road to take. These pictures are 2 years old, so I must get in gear to getting updated ones as well as her new Mustang/Paint cross filly, Coco.

I included a picture with his best buddy Doozer. Red bred once and only once, and it was an accidental breeding. He got out and bred to Doozer and they produced a lethal white foal. So it had to be put down not long after birth. This picture was taken after Red had been gelded. Poor guy...

He is very pretty. I would love another horse, but they scare me.

Why do they scare you?? I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have the option of seeing the horses even though their really not mine.

clearjade will become famous soon enough
He is gorgeous and he sounds like a sweetheart too! I LOVE horses, but some of the bigger ones make me nervous, there was a very pretty palomino in the riding stables I took lessons at called Cheesecake and he was a biter . I've had my foot stepped on by ponies a few times and gosh does it hurt! I'd really like to start riding again someday

Awww, they are both very pretty. Red looks like a really big, thick horse...my favorite kind! I used to ride a horse named Big Red when I was younger that looked similar. He was over 16 hands I believe but the weetest horse.

He's a looker! I've always wanted a horse; alas, I live in the city - LOL. Do you ride or show him in anything?

Red is a very well built horse He's not huge but he's not tiny either...I can't recall exactly off the top of my head but I'd say right around 15 hands.

Dianna, I couldn't say how many times I've been stepped on...lol...One time I went out to catch Doozer to go out to ride and she stepped right on my foot and stood there...and wouldn't budge...I had a huge purple hoofprint for almost 3 weeks. Couldn't ride either cause it hurt so bad...of course not till the next day so going riding anyway probably didn't help.

I don't show just take them out on the trails whenever I can. Darla has a bad back so she can't ride very often at all. And her kids don't take much of an interest in the horses either. So it's a win win situtuation for the both of us :P

I LOVE big horses. If I could I'd get myself a Clydesdale!! Or any draft type breed at that.

I really should bring my camera over and get some updated pictures. She's got a gorgeous little Buckskin Overo Paint/Mustang Filly and a beautiful Black Overo Mare. If it weren't for my chinnies I'd have a horse. Tim won't let me have both so I've opted for the chins I've got horses I can ride and do as I wish with already.
