Paso horse

Here is my little project horse. The owners dont ride him he is just a pet, hes old that old but they overfed him and now realize that he needs muchly to be put on a diet and be exersised so they have him at the barn Ive been at lately helping out so I took him on. This video is me riding him and finally getting him into a fast canter. I used no bridle just a halter and no saddle just a stirrupless bareback pad so my pants didnt get dirty cause I had to go to dinner right after. Im at a house housesitting with highspeed so thought I would try posting a video for once. This breed is unlike any horse I have ever riden they pace by moving their legs really fast at the same side of their body and paddling. I have another video too I might try to put on that is him just pacing, this is his canter mostly and trot on the corners. He is so fat I have him lathered in sweat every day but dont go fast on turns because he might hurt himself. Hope it gives you a laugh!

That is very cool! I have seen those types of horses with their unusual gait before on video, but it was neat seeing you riding him. How does it feel? Does if feel smooth or was it very choppy sitting on him especially without a saddle? Let's hope all this exercise will help him lose the weight- he does look a bit thick in the middle.

The canter... not so smooth, but the trot once I got over laughing because it was so weird is smooth like glass. I could hold a full cup of water and not spill a drop probably... He would be great for a egg and spoon race!
