Getting up early this Sunday . Stuart and I are going to the building in West Croydon to see the Old Crocks passing through from London to Brighton.

Gonna take me mini stove and kettle for tea and who knows we may make a Bacon sarni too on me lil sacepan . Dont know how cold it will be tommorow morn but we will wanna be there by half 6.

Uncle Bill god rest his soul used to work in that office and June sometimes sits in there during her cleaning job , I tink there is an electric fan heater in there.

Old Crocks being cars that pre date the end of the 1 WW

Hiya Dickie

Time for the London to Brighton again? This year has really gone quickly. I used to love watching that race when I lived down south. Some amazing cars and even more amazing methods of keeping them running too sometimes

Well we had a great day down at Brighton and the weather could'nt have been better , there were a few grey clouds hovering and passing overhead.

And later we stopped of at some gap near seaford and watched the pink sun dissapear below the horizon over the sea.

" And it's gone "

I remember doing the same at Box Hill with stuart last year.

Good morning everyone

Glad you had a nice day for the race, Dickie

The sunset sounds lovely too. It has been quite cloudy up here recently, so sunrises and sunsets have been obscured.

Had a burn up yesterday afternoon at No22 , got rid of a load of bigger pieces of wood , looks like I may have to bag up the rest , dirt old leaves and twigs for the councils Green waste collection..

had a small barbaque me and me friend , shoved a few Potatoes on the embers at the bottom of the incinerator , a couple of small burgers each and some cheap Frankfurters that were just about edible.

Was lots of fun putting the hot coals out , dampening them down with a watering can and rose , lol the steam was in a big columnular cloud. Then went for a pint down the local.

Wilga the mouse seems to be recovering well after her recent escape and frantic chase , she got pretty badly hurt and lost part of her tail and a couple of her rear toes got messed up.

But she's on an Antibiotic now to stop infection , Baytril and she seems relaxed.

And now to start the vacuuming.

Sounds like you had quite a hectic few days, Dickie. Glad to hear that Wilga is OK though, albeit a bit battered and bruised.

Dunno where abouts you are in North Yorks , but Hopefully your nowhere near the coast or a flood plain.

Seems we have another 1953 Storm surge disaster on the way.

Over 220 peeps perished just at Canvey Island the last time round out of the 2000 total.

So hard to believe it's too happen , I have a newspaper or two under my bed that date from that time.

The Thames barrier has gone up just in case.

Not one for praying but lets hope the advancements in weather broadcasting and TV help to save lives.
