Exclamation Halloween aproaches

It wont be long now until Halloween is upon us , a time when we can reveal our Autumnal treasures and bounty , wether it be shop bought or organically grown on your own allotment , plot or in your own garden.

October the 31st is almost here and I was wondering if anybody on POTN had any ideas on what their pumpkins would look like this year.

I just lined this one out tonight it is a Supermarket bought pumpkin that cost me the cheap as chips price of 99p

I'm dumbfounded.

I made it to look like the vauxhall motors Gryffyn but it has a slightly natural twist . For some reason i have gone from having good basic carving skills to Amateur technique in a bound.

So here is the Pumpkin that I will do and give to my Cousin Stuart , he loves his vauxhalls , I would guess that the U.s Equivalent would be a Cheverolet.

So what has everyone else got in the bag.

?

I don't 'celebrate' halloween tbh, Dickie

I'm afraid to say that I don't appreciate 'trick/treat' either. I have never celebrated it really, even as a youngster...so never carved a pumpkin or anything like that, sorry

One of the staff on another site in the network is going scuba diving this weekend and taking part in an underwater pumpkin carving contest though, which soulds quite hysterical

bunnicula will become famous soon enough
I'll be hosting a Halloween puppet show at work, and I think that I am going to dress up as The Paperbag Princess.

Underwater pumpkin carving contest

At the Halloween puppet show as a Paperbag princess.

Well we all seem to be busy and by the looks of things I have two Pumpkins to carve at my parents during the day on the 30th and this Vauxhall Gryfynn one that night.

Then I have an organic Allotment grown pumpkin that must be about 45 lbs to carve . My main pumpkin this year at Barbara's is going to be a puking pumpkin , it's a bit of a revenge attack on last years 69 lb monster that was attacked by fruit flies and went off , the remains of the stem began to break down and the enzymes that the fruit flies used to break the pumpkin down created more damege that we had first anticipated . Upon opening the Ferox pumpkin Barbara and I almost threw up it was horrible , and all the seeds were swimming in a sea of green foulness.

I was scooping it up into a bucket and throwing it away . In the end there were parts of the base of the inside of the pumpkin that were dangerously only a centimetre or two thick , and it was'nt until I blasted it out with a hosepipe and bunged 6CP ( Candle power ) in there it finaly stopped breaking down and liquifying any further.

Maybe I could post up some pics of my past carvings and designs , give you some idea's pumpkin lol Suzoo.

Are you going to dress up Montana and Koko?

I'm not sure if I will or not. Probably not Koko as she is a nervous thing but I may put something on Montana if it's lightweight enough.. The neighbourhood kids love to see the dogs when they come to my door for treats!

You could always just put Montana in a cape - it would be easy and lightweight.

Sometimes I go to 2nd hand shops & buy costumes that are for baby or toddler size children and then modify it to fit Montana. The cow costume I have was meant for a toddler. It's cheap & seems to work well!
